Early intervention service
If you’re a young person with drug or alcohol problems, don’t struggle alone.
There are specialist workers based at all of Oxfordshire's Young People's Hubs. They are specially trained to work with young people who are using drugs and/or alcohol and would like information, guidance and support for any problems that might arise from them. This might include:
- problems at home, work or school
- bad effects on relationships
- difficult thoughts or emotions
- feeling out of control
- problems with someone else's drug use
- trouble with the law.
You should talk to your local Early Intervention Hubs about accessing these services. They can discuss with you which services to access and what support is best for you.
Confidentiality
Usually, meetings with your drugs worker will be completely confidential. This means no one will be told about what you say during the meetings. However if the worker feels that you are in a situation that can cause significant harm to yourself or others, they may have to discuss this with their line manager, eg if they think you or someone else is in danger. They will always tell you before they do this.
